As a woman in the wallpapering profession I am often asked, “How did you get started?” The short version is that I started out as an Industrial Painter in a factory. I was the first woman in maintenance in the facility's 100 years. The Lead Painter took me under his wing and taught me what he knew about painting and wallpapering. Quite soon I knew that wallpapering was my passion and would be my new career. In 1986, I quit my factory job, enrolled and graduated from the U.S. School of Professional Paperhanging, and started doing business as The Great Wall. Wallpapering is still my passion and craft after 24 years.

When I started out in business, my goal was to provide homeowners and designers with a professional, reliable, competent service with an emphasis on being highly detail oriented. Next was to build a solid customer base.

Nearly 25 years later, I’m proud to say I've met my goals and continue to build The Great Wall’s reputation. My customer base includes homeowners with whom I've done multiple projects and, often, multiple homes. My customers are confident when calling me that I will treat them as friends and take care of their homes as if they were my own. Pet and child safety, dependability, and completing a project promptly are standards I strictly adhere to.

Designers I work with know I will be on the job when promised & finish on time. I strive to be an asset to their business & a valuable member of their team.

I pride myself on my ability to understand each customer’s needs and exceed expectations with every project. How is this done? I take the time to get to know my customers and build a solid working relationship, then deliver results as promised. Sticking to those basic values has earned me the respect of both customers and designers.
